Wow, over 75 million SharePoint Portal Server licenses (so not user CALs) sold worldwide and then to think what new capabilities have been added to the platform in the upcoming version.
I plan to move my blog over to Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 in the coming months. The thing I am looking for at the moment is a way to export / import my current blog so that I don’t loose the history. It’ll be my second move just over 2 years but the goal is to go Microsoft all the way 🙂 …

Do you REALLY think that Microsoft has sold 75 million server licenses of SharePoint? I assumed that was a mis-statement and meant to reflect CALs. 75 million servers would mean one for every 60 people in the world. Even Microsoft’s scalability isn’t THAT bad, right?
Ed,
I agree with you it is a very high number (hence my Wow 😉 )and will see if I can do a check on it somehow.
It could very well be that indeed CALs are meant in this context.
I like the idea somehow. 1 SharePoint Server for every 60 users out there ;-); something tells me we are on a mission ….
