Photosynth now available on Windows Phone #wp7nl

30 mei 2012

image

Photosynth for Windows Phone is the panorama app that makes it easy and fun to capture and share interactive panoramas of the places, people, and events that are important to you. Using the latest in computer vision techniques, Photosynth is the acknowledged leader in mobile panorama creation. It is the only app available on any mobile platform that allows you to capture 360 degrees horizontally and vertically, making a perfect “sphere."

Once you’ve created a Photosynth, you can share it as an interactive panorama experience on Facebook and Twitter (using the free Photosynth.net service) or as a simple image. You can also publish your panoramas to Bing where millions of people will see your panoramas, on Bing Maps and in Bing search results for the places you’ve captured. And check out our featured list, where we show off the best of what you and your fellow users create and share.

Some people think Microsoft and Innovation are two words that don’t go well together .. well it turns out they do. Two solution came from Microsoft Research and are now 2 very well received solutions making Time’s 50 Best Website list :

Very nice considering these sites are still fairly new, Photosynth just turned one and the Worldwide Telescope web client has only been available since March 2009! WWT itself went public in May 2008. Both technologies came out of Microsoft Research. …

Microsoft AutoCollage trial version available

4 september 200829 december 2019

Few weeks ago I posted about a very cool new Microsoft program to create Photo Collages

You can download it from research.microsoft.com/downloads and trial it 30 days free. If you like it, you can buy it online from Windows Marketplace or the Microsoft online store in the locales it’s available (US, UK, DE for now). The AutoCollage application is based on great research out of MSR Cambridge (and using research from other MSR labs), and marks the first incubation released directly to consumers from Cambridge Incubation.

You can visit the AutoCollage webpage at http://research.microsoft.com/AutoCollage, and check out the linked trial download, press release, and read up on the research if you’re interested.

P.S. so Willem, here it is 🙂

Microsoft Live Labs Introduces Photosynth

24 augustus 2008

Microsoft Photosynth is gold. You can now create your own “synths” …

For anyone who is even remotely ‘photo crazy’  kicking Photosynth’s tyres is a must ..

image

… First there was the snapshot, and then came video. Now there is Microsoft Photosynth, a new service from Microsoft Live Labs that goes far beyond how you now view, experience and share photos.

You can share or relive a vacation destination or explore a distant museum or landmark; with a digital camera and your own creativity and inspiration, you can use Photosynth to transform regular digital photos into a three-dimensional, 360-degree experience. Anybody who sees your “synth” is put right in your shoes, sharing in the same sense of exhilaration and wonder that you did at the time, with detail, clarity and scope impossible to achieve in conventional photos or videos.

Imagine yourself beneath the Eiffel Tower or in the heart of Times Square. Now imagine being able to see that exact scene in an amazing new way. With Photosynth, you can look up or down, pan from left to right, zoom in, or pull back to reveal the full sense of where you were. Photosynth provides incredibly realistic close-up detail of a place as seen in the collaboration with National Geographic. Exclusive synths of some of the world’s most renowned locations, such as Machu Picchu and the Parthenon, were created using photographs taken by National Geographic. …

BeFunky – Cartoonize your pictures

20 april 200829 december 2019

A few weeks ago I saw Willem’s blogpost about BeFunky. A cool site which let’s you create avatars and also cartoons from photos.

image

I’m sure that applications like photoshop, etc can do this much better, but doing this on BeFunky is really a ‘nobrainer’ and the effect is quite nice …

My new photokit

28 augustus 2007 3 reacties

I just purchased my new digital photography “kit”:

The Nikon D80 + Nikon AF-S 18-200mm F/3.5-5.6 G DX VR IF ED.

Joris will hate me for choosing Nikon over Canon ;-), but quite some colleagues have this camera (or its predecessor) and this lens and they are very enthusiastic about it.

Next steps

  1. Waiting for the postman
  2. Practice, practice practice
  3. Upgrade my Flickr account
  4. Show off my “art” (this will take some time)

‘Canongebruikers delen vaker foto’s’

12 augustus 2007
