Onderzoek KvK naar ‘Smart Industry’ (digitalisering) in Nederland

22 december 2015 No Comments

29 april 2015 No Comments

The Millennial Generation is Defining the Web Experience

The millennial generation is rebalancing the relationship between the individual and the organization.

The Millennials, also known as Generation Y or the Digital Natives, like to play by their own rules writes Lauren Martin for Elite Daily in September 2014. They are skeptical, particularly about authority and the system. They look to their peers rather than the experts, because they know the experts have been so wrong so many times before. They value freedom, don’t want to conform and expect technology to make their lives faster and easier. They’d prefer to clean a toilet than wait on hold for customer service. Basically, they don’t trust the message. They’ll figure things out for themselves because they’ve got search and social.

According to a 2014 survey on millennials by Aspect Software, over half of them dropped at least one brand in the past twelve months because of poor customer service.

“Millennials are self-reliant and technology dependent, but not necessarily tech savvy, and they expect instant gratification,” said Jason Dorsey, Chief Strategy Officer at The Center for Generational Kinetics. “They don’t just like speed and ease of use, they expect it.”

PWC: IoT wordt een Multi-triljoen-Dollar Markt per 2020

10 augustus 2014 No Comments

Companies have embarked on a gradual but massive adoption of  Internet of things (IoT) technology, investing in sensors to collect data, which is then wirelessly sent for further analysis or alerts, according to a survey.

IoT involves hardware, like small devices and wireless networking, as well as software, but sensors are key for extracting data from objects and the environment, said PwC in the survey, released Monday.

“From refrigerators to parking spaces to houses, the IoT is bringing billions of things into the digital fold, which will make the IoT a multi-trillion dollar industry by 2020,” PwC said in an executive summary of the survey.

Twenty percent of companies are investing in IoT sensors, up from 17 percent last year. The survey is based on responses from almost 1,500 company executives.

Fourteen percent of the respondents said sensors are of top strategic importance to their companies in the next three to five years.

Forester: De Public Cloud Markt groeit exponentieel

28 april 2014 No Comments

Public cloud services continue to drive big changes in the markets for software, hardware, and IT outsourcing, while providing a foundation for age of the customer innovations. How much and when will cloud transform these markets? In this research, we project that the public cloud market will reach $191 billion by 2020, from 2013’s total of $58 billion. Cloud applications, at $133 billion in 2020, are leading this growth; cloud platforms will generate $44 billion in revenue by 2020; and cloud business services will come in at $14 billion. Much of this growth is initiated by line of business and marketing and strategy leads, but CIOs and their technology management organizations are increasingly expected to be driving these initiatives. For CIOs, the message is clear: "Shift into the driver seat, or others will."

Cloud partners zijn Succesvoller …

14 juli 2013 No Comments

IDC has worked with Microsoft on understanding profitability and success in the cloud. Insight from IDC’s research reveals the proven potential of leading with the cloud, and provides helpful advice from top-performing partners.

Top Partners Take a Hybrid Approach to Success

Cloud growth is 5X that of the IT industry overall. Though, the reality is that customers
will continue to have on-premise technologies for a long time to come. Top partners take a hybrid approach to success.

Cloud Partners Are The Best Performing Partners

In multiple surveys, cloud-oriented partners significantly outperformed their peers: Higher Revenue/Employee, Higher Gross Profit, Higher Customer Acquisition, and Faster Growth.

Top Partners Tend to Embrace Cloud Trends Early

While cloud contributes to these metrics, it’s clear that top-performing partners have takenon cloud first, incorporating cloud as part of their overall successful business model. Top partners have vision and tend to embrace trends early.

Cloud Can Improve Partner Business Models

Top partners agree that cloud helps open new doors, upsell other software and services, and generally grow revenue. Gross profit has improved for many partners, as they learn how to offer fixed fee engagements with optimized delivery.

There are Still Risks and Obstacles Along the Journey

Cloud partners have had to manage cash flow issues, replace old streams of revenue with new ones, and manage often longer sales cycles. No one is claiming you can sell one cloud offering and prosper.

Invest Now – Target 50% or More of Your Business in the Cloud

Make the journey now to join the successful cloud partners in this study. Aim for 50%
or more of your revenue to be cloud-related. There is no more hesitation in getting on-board.
