I downloaded the beta, with the hope of quickly looking at the new client.
I was really dissapointed that the new client will not connect to the currently shipping OCS 2003. Not sure when I can get to play with this now.

I will check on this and let you know. As far as I know, Communicator 2007 requires OCS 2007 simply because the new features in the client require new server functionality.
In combination with the new server you can at least experience what Lotus SameTime will release in let’s say a year from now 😉

Seriously, I know there are new features coming, but there is no technical reason why the features that require the new server code are just not active in the client. At least that way you can get a head start with it. Having to build a whole new AD domain just to kick the tyres is a bit excessive.
