Getronics today announced its planned purchase of Dutch rival PinkRoccade valuing the government-focused IT services specialist at 338 million Euro in a combined shares and cash offer. Forrester believes that the deal will tidy up some loose ends in the Dutch IT industry and give a useful fillip to the firm’s portfolio and market share in one of its core markets. But the new purchase requires a strong hand to guide the integration process and will do little to boost Getronics’ critical target of creating a coherent global solution portfolio.
Being from The Netherlands, this is an interesting development. Getronics is already one of the largest SI’s and I know they have tried to purchase Pink Roccade once before about 7 years ago or so.
