Presence messaging technology should be all the rage this week as Microsoft and a variety of partners are set to debut products that let users integrate VoIP with instant messaging, Wi-Fi and videoconferencing applications.
I strongly believe in the way Presence Integration is going to change how we contact people and get contacted. Presence will to a certain extend replace “traditional” things like phonenumbers and emailadresses. Ofcourse these are needed somewhere in the system to link everything together, but you can get rid of you addressbook and other contactlists.. Contacting people can be done from whatever application through whatever communicationchannel you device supports.
