Looks like some linux zealots’ disrespect for the intellectual property and the laws will cost users thousands of dollars in the future. The insurance company which provides legal protection says they found 283 potential infringments. Given the likelihood that half of those patents become invalid in the court, the rest may cause a big headache for the linux users in the future. To get a protection you can pay $150,000 per year for up to 5 million dollar protection. The insurance company employs many slashdotters, like the person behind Groklaw which is the slashdot of SCO.
I guess Linux zealot’s tactics of hiding problems from consumers and telling them tons of lies are going to be a big issue later on.
